• 2002
  • 30 June - NOCs to apply for Tripartite Commission Invitation places
  • 31 August - The Tripartite Commission will identify a priority list of Invitation applications which meet the identified criteria
  • 31 December - FISA to determine location of Olympic Qualification Regattas [venues announced in FISA Circular No. 2 - 28 Jul 2003, see below]
• 2003
  • 24-31 August - 2003 FISA World Rowing Championships, Milan, ITA
• 2004
  • 21-24 Apr - FISA Asian Olympic Qualification Regatta, (Shanghai CHN)
  • 23-25 Apr - FISA African Olympic Qualification Regatta (Tunis, TUN)
  • 14-16 May - FISA Latin American Olympic Qualification Regatta, (San Salvador, ESA)
  • 31 May - Deadline for NOCs to confirm to FISA use of qualification places gained at the 2003 World Championships and Continental Qualification Regattas in Asia, Africa and Latin America
  • 31 May - Closing date for entries for the Final Qualification Regatta
  • 10 June - FISA to confirm allocation of any additional qualification places for the Final Qualification Regatta
  • 13-16 June - Final Olympic Qualification Regatta (Lucerne, SUI)
  • 30 June - FISA to confirm reallocation of any available places arising from the final qualification regatta
  • 21 July - Deadline for the Athens 2004 Organising Committee to receive entry forms submitted by NOCs
